Bruins plan to take many vacations this summer despite the COVID-19 school year. Bruins staff and students have planned vacations for summer.

Retiring teacher Jeffrey Carrow mentions his plans for the summer this year. “My plans for the summer: first off, I’m retiring, so I have plans for life coming up. The first thing I need to do is head to Santa Barbara for two weeks to live the dream there with my daughters as they are moving back to Nevada County at the end of June. Then I’m going to keep having a blast with my daughters and my friends in downtown Nevada City where I live,” he said.

Carrow explained a list of what he is planning on doing with his children at home.

“That includes the Yuba, eating dinners out, hanging on the balcony with Hannah, Katie, Jacque, Kellen and Jason,” said. “Then we are heading to Mexico for a couple of months of travel in that amazing country. That will include Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, San Miguel, Oaxaca, Cancun and many other places. We are also planning on numerous California road trips to Tahoe, San Francisco, Humboldt and Mendocino and Marin.”

Carrow also mentions his favorite place to go in the summertime.

“My favorite place is my super incredible, vibey hometown of Nevada City. You couldn’t design a better home town for me to live in. I love everything about that place. The beauty, the cafes, the scenery, the old historic buildings, the river, but mostly the incredible people that live and visit there. I meet people from all over the world and they are beautiful!”

Senior Colby Lunsford explains his summer plans as a senior and a baseball player.

“I have a bunch of baseball games this summer so I plan on just playing all the time. I think I have 62 games in 6 weeks scheduled so far. I am going to South Dakota for a week, and Medford Oregon for a week. Both for baseball tournaments.”

Junior Christian Kohlbeck says his plans for this summer.

“This summer my plans are to go camping at Scotts Flat with my girlfriend. I’m also going to go to Southern California and visit my family. I think I’m also going to be practicing a lot of baseball so that I have a really good senior year. “

Sophomore Audrianna Cha commented on her plans for the summer.

“I plan on doing more volleyball and hanging out with friends SAFELY. Staying around the area or down in Sac for volleyball things.”

Sophomore Kiana Breeze also has summer plans this year.

“My summer plans are to just hang out with friends and visit my dad’s family from Minnesota.”
