Top 5 English Classics
No. 5: Great Gatsby
I know this is a Top 5 list, but this book was only added to the list so I could voice my dislike for it. No one cares about spoiled rich people, the “American Dream” or the flashing green light in the distance. Shut up. Please.
No. 4: Fahrenheit 451
COOL PEOPLE READ DYSTOPIA. READ IF YOU WANT TO BE COOL.
No. 3: One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest
A novel about a group of patients stuck in an insane asylum and their rebellion against authority. The character development in this book is some of the best I’ve ever seen, and the redemption of the patients is inspiring. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
No. 2: Frankenstein
The original classic story of a mad scientist creating a “monster”. I know it sounds boring but it’s actually really really good. It covers themes like true monstrosity, the dangers of ambition, and the beauty of nature. 10/10.
No. 1: Animal Farm
THE BEST BOOK I’VE EVER LAID MY EYES ON. LIFE-CHANGING. A fictional commentary on the Russian Revolution that everyone needs to read at least once in their lives. I beg of you please read this. Please.
