It’s not a mystery that people are looking forward to Drama Teacher Sara Noah’s adaptation of “And Then There Were None.”
According to Mrs. Noah, auditions for Bear River’s next play are Monday, Jan. 23, and Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 3:30 p.m. in the theater, with callbacks the following day for those who want to participate in the murder mystery.
Mrs. Noah gave a brief synopsis of the plot of the play.
“A bunch of people are invited to an island and they all mysteriously die one by one,” she said.
Mrs. Noah gave a simple explanation of the audition process.
“They don’t need to do any kind of preparation,” she said. “We just read from the script.”
Students conveyed their reasons for wanting to audition.
“I do plan to audition, mainly because I’ve always liked being on stage,” said Scout Pettitt, a sophomore.
“I plan to audition because I like acting and being a part of theater,” said Savannah Earl, a junior. “Even if I don’t get a part, I’d love to still be involved as part of the crew.”
“(I want to audition) because I want to open up and get less awkward around people,” said Jack Kendall, a sophomore.
Students expressed their positive feelings about the play.
“I think it will be an interesting play,” said Earl. “Mrs. Noah plans to do a different ending every night.”
“I think it’ll be really fun to get to know people,” said Kendall.
“I’m quite excited about the play to come,” said Pettitt. “The actual play itself is an amazing one, but I believe, since Mrs. Noah will be doing her own adaptation, it’ll be a lot more exciting.”
Students, as well as Mrs. Noah, encouraged those who want to audition.
“Its great to have people auditioning. …” said Kendall, “Don’t be afraid. Nobody cares how you’re acting because, you’re acting.”
“I think that if you want, or like, to get on stage and perform then (you should) audition,” said Earl. “It’s a lot of fun.”
“Auditioning isn’t all about getting into the play,” said Pettitt. “Auditioning in itself is so fun. It’s nice to see all of the people like you. There is no need to be nervous while auditioning because everyone else who is auditioning is nervous, so if one person doesn’t seem nervous, no one else will be.”
“Come and try. …” said Mrs. Noah. “It’s a good experience. Try something fun, try something new, and who knows?”
