The freshmen girls basketball team are looking to score new players.

Girls basketball, a fall to winter sport, is starting and more freshmen are needed for the new team.

Coach Randy Billingsley said his goal is to “create some excitement for freshmen players.” He went on to say that he hopes that freshmen bring their “A game” to tryouts. He emphasized the importance of the freshmen team.

“We want them to be able to play at their own level,” Coach Billingsley said.

With a new freshman team, basketball players are looking to dominate their league.

“I think it’s great for them if they believe they can do it,” said Alyssa Pulkinghorn, the varsity captain. “I would definitely help with coaching them if that’s what they needed.”

“I think it’s good to separate the freshmen from the sophomores,” said Becca Van Patten, a varsity player. “It gives them more time to get more skilled on an individual team.”

Tryouts for the freshmen girls basketball team start Friday, November 11 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
